Town Topics' Front-Page Coverage of June 14 No Kings Protest
Despite an ominous weather report and driving rain that let up just in time for the event, thousands turned up in Princeton to oppose Trump's inncreasingly authoritarian, king-like attacks on American democracy. The Princeton No Kings rally was only one of thousands across the country that drew more than five million people opposed to authoritarianism, corruption, and billionaire-first politics. The Princeton Battle Monument, with its representation of George Washington towering over a massive crowd, was a particularly appropriate reminder of the nation’s founding on the principle that the president is not a king.
